The War Experience Project is bridging the communication gap between the military and civilian worlds through art. Veterans are creating new dialogue on their terms through paintings on the back of military service uniforms revealing what has always been in the uniform but never seen, save those who wore them. The collective exhibit of uniforms becomes a visual representation of, and invitation to visualize, the burden of service warriors carry and have generously illuminated.
The War Experience Project has been a Shunpike-affiliated group since April 2010.
