The mission of Carpe Dance is to build social awareness, confidence and self-esteem in children and to transform schools and communities through the practice of social dance. Through standards-based, in-school residencies, they use the vocabulary of ballroom dance to cultivate maturity, respect, teamwork, confidence and a sense of joy and accomplishment to children in school.
Carpe Dance has been a Shunpike-affiliated group since May 2010.
