Announcing Our New Executive Director
Dear Shunpike Supporters and Friends,
I am pleased to update you on the completion of the first major step in our organization's transition: the hiring of our new executive director, Andy Fife!
As I wrote to you in July, the Shunpike staff and board decided this summer - based on our organization's incredible growth and development over the past few years - to replace our current staff of three part-time employees with two full-time employees. With the amazing leadership and dedication of our Board of Directors Search Committee, we conducted a formal search process and held interviews with a number of exciting candidates. Andy shone through as a perfect fit for the position, and we are overjoyed to announce his acceptance of our offer.
Andy is best known in the Seattle arts community for his role as director of operations for Consolidated Works, the former multi-media arts venue in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. His extensive arts management resume also includes many other relevant experiences: publicist for the Seattle International Film Festival, operations manager for the Cultural Development Corporation in Washington, DC, and founder of a number of emerging arts organizations in Chicago, where he received his undergraduate degree in performance studies at Northwestern University. His familiarity with our region's arts community and his experience working in similar organizations around the country make him an ideal person to run the Shunpike, and we are confident that he will be able to lead our organization to new heights of client service and support. Andy starts on September 10, and feel free to contact him at andy at shunpike dot org.
Thanks for your continuing support, and best wishes.
Yours,
Eric Schinfeld
Executive Director (Until September 10th!)
